Short, because there is not much to say. Reading this site is anonymous, and the one place we collect anything is the contact form.
Reading the site
You do not need an account, and there is nothing to sign up for. We set no cookies and store nothing in your browser. Page views are counted by a cookie-less analytics service that does not build a profile of you or follow you to other sites.
Our hosting provider processes your network address in order to deliver pages to you, and we briefly count requests against it to stop one source from flooding the site. That counter holds a coarsened form of the address, is used for nothing else, and is deleted automatically about two hours later.
When something goes wrong in your browser, an error-monitoring service records what broke so we can fix it. It is configured not to collect personal information, and the contents of anything you type are not sent to it.
When you get in touch
The contact form asks for an email address, what you are getting in touch about, and optionally a ticker and a message. That is the whole record. We deliberately do not ask what you hold, what you earn, or how much you have to invest — we would have no use for it.
Your address is used to reply to you and for nothing else. You are not added to a mailing list, because there isn't one. We do not sell, rent, or share submissions, and we do not pass your details to brokers, advisers, or anyone else.
Submissions are deleted automatically after 180 days. That is enforced by the database itself rather than by anyone remembering to do it. A copy of each message also arrives in the operator's email inbox, which is where the reply is written from.
Deleting what you sent
Reply to our email, or send the form again from the same address, and say you want your details removed. We will delete the record and confirm. You do not have to give a reason.
Where it is kept
The site and its data run on Amazon Web Services in the United States. Nothing is copied anywhere else.
